I absolutely love this band.  It puts me in a mellow, writing mood.

Words My Mother Was Trying to Say

Dear Daughter,

New York is not that great.  I know you want to get out of here and move on.  And I think you should.  I’ve worked in New York almost my whole life and I know you want to follow in my footsteps; but you have so much more potential.  As a parent, I will miss you if you go, but you need to.  You’ve gotten so frustrated here.  I know you feel trapped.  So don’t settle for Reserves.  Go Active.  Live your life.  I know you say that if you find love, you’ll stay Reserves.  But what happens if he leaves you?

My daughter is always falling in love.  The one thing I see in you now is the love of life.  Don’t let any man take that ambition and drive out of you.  You’ve got my smarts. I love you and I know you’ll make it.  Keep your head up and your hopes high.

Dear Mother,

Thank you.
